There are moments in life when everything feels like it is working against you. Plans fall apart, time feels like it is slipping through your fingers, and no matter how much effort you put in, nothing seems to move the way it should. In those moments, it can be incredibly difficult to feel divinely supported, let alone believe that something greater is unfolding behind the scenes.
And yet, sometimes those very moments become the clearest evidence that we are being guided all along. That is the heart of the story I share in episode 577 of Soul Elevation.
After returning from the New Living Expo, I found myself in exactly that kind of situation. What should have been a simple trip to the airport turned into a cascade of small obstacles that quickly began to build pressure. My scheduled Uber never confirmed the pick up I set up the night before. The backup Lyft I scheduled when the first ride feel through was caught in traffic. Time was quickly moving forward while my options seemed to close one by one. I could feel the inner tension rising as my mind started calculating every possible outcome, most of them ending with me missing my flight home.
This is where the spiritual path meets the physical world in a very real way. It's easy to feel connected to higher guidance when you're meditating, reflecting, or immersed in a high-frequency environment like a spiritual event. It's another thing entirely when you are facing a practical, time-sensitive situation that feels completely outside your control.
In that situation, I began to feel more and more pressed and like I was running out of options. I reached out inwardly and asked for help. I invited my Divine team into the situation. At the same time, I kept taking action in the physical world, exploring every option available to me. I was, after all, the one in the physical world!
What stood out to me was not just the unfolding of events, but the internal experience. Even as I was asking for support, there was a part of me that questioned whether something so “practical” could truly be influenced by the spiritual realm. It revealed a subtle but important layer of our human conditioning, the idea that there are certain areas of life where we are on our own.
What happened from my inner prayers and involvement of God and my Divine team was a series of shifts that felt almost surreal. A taxi finally arrived after being unable to order one from two other local taxi companies. Traffic that should have been heavy with rush hour traffic simply was not there. My local driver, familiar with the traffic patterns of that area, expressed genuine confusion at how clear the roads were during peak hours. The usual obstacles never materialized. Everything flowed in a way that defied expectation.
And then, as if to really catch my attention to the divinity of the situation, a vivid rainbow appeared near the airport just as I was arriving. It felt like an unmistakable reminder that what had just unfolded was not random, but a manifestation of alignment and connection between the unseen and the seen.
What became clear through this experience is that the challenge itself was part of the gift. If everything had gone smoothly from the beginning, there may not have been the same level of awareness, the same conscious reaching toward the Divine, or the same openness to witnessing the support that was available. The pressure created the space for connection and made the guidance visible. This is something we can easily overlook. When things feel difficult or blocked, it can seem like we are being pushed away from what we want. But sometimes, those moments are actually drawing us deeper into trust, inviting us to include the divine in ways we might not otherwise consider.
Divine timing does not always look like ease in the beginning. Sometimes it looks like disruption or delay. But within those experiences, there is often a deeper orchestration at play, one that becomes visible only when we stay present and open to it.
There is also an important balance here. Trust does not mean inaction. In this experience, I still had to make calls, explore options, and take practical steps. The alignment came through the combination of grounded action and openness to support beyond what I could control. I could not hang back and do nothing. I needed to partner with something greater while continuing to move forward.
For anyone navigating uncertainty or feeling like things are not unfolding as they should, this is a powerful reminder. What appears to be going wrong may actually be creating the conditions for something more aligned to emerge. The key is staying engaged, being open, and allowing the possibility that you are supported even in the most ordinary, real-world situations. The truth is, there is no separation. The Divine is not limited to meditation spaces or spiritual practices. It is present in the airport rush, the unexpected delay, the quiet moment of asking for help, and the surprising ease that can follow.
Sometimes, the very moments that test our trust are the ones that reveal it most clearly.
And when you begin to recognize that, even the challenges start to feel different. They become invitations into a deeper relationship with life itself, rather than obstacles or challenges.
