Have you considered that what many people consider mystical or rare are actually natural parts of being human?

In episode 588 of the Soul Elevation podcast, Kara Goodwin explores what she calls “human technology,” the built-in energetic and intuitive systems that every person possesses but that often remain dormant or underdeveloped.

While modern society places heavy emphasis on the traditional five senses, humans are equipped with many additional layers of perception that guide us physically, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually. These subtle forms of inner communication are constantly operating beneath the surface, quietly directing us toward alignment, healing, truth, and greater awareness. Let's now take an expansive exploration of intuition, emotional intelligence, soul communication, and spiritual awakening. Remember that intuitive abilities aren't reserved for a gifted few. They are part of our natural biological and spiritual design.

What Kara called human technology is the natural intelligence already embedded within the human experience. Just as the body signals hunger, thirst, exhaustion, or discomfort, there are deeper internal systems of self communication that are continuously communicating information to us. It's easy to recognize physical sensations because society conditions us to trust those signals. We know when we are hungry, thirsty, tired, overheated, or uncomfortable because these signals are familiar and widely accepted.

But there are other forms of communication happening within us all the time, like intuitive nudges, emotional resonance, energetic sensations, inner knowing, soul whispers, gut feelings, synchronicities, and spiritual impressions. These subtle cues and clues are often overlooked because they are quieter than the external world competing for our attention. Our intuition isn't supernatural, but part of our innate human operating system.

Your soul usually communicates gently.

Unlike physical danger signals that demand immediate attention, soul guidance often comes as a whisper rather than a shout. This inner communication can show up through feelings, impressions, recurring thoughts, emotional reactions, or subtle energetic sensations. These signals are quieter and more nuanced, and so many people dismiss them or fail to recognize them entirely. Yet the soul is constantly communicating. The challenge in these modern times is learning how to tune into it.

Intuitive perception is woven into the fabric of being human, rather than something that only a few special people have access to. These abilities may feel underdeveloped because mainstream culture rarely teaches people how to recognize or strengthen them. Since most individuals are trained to prioritize external information over internal awareness, intuitive signals can become muted over time. But like any skill or muscle, intuition becomes stronger through attention and practice. Trust the small signals you are already receiving - possibly unknowingly - rather than waiting for dramatic psychic experiences.

Be cautious with spiritual teachings that encourage suppressing or bypassing emotions entirely. While emotional reactivity can become unhealthy when driven purely by ego or unconscious patterns, emotions themselves are not the enemy. They can actually be valuable messengers. Our emotional responses often provide information about alignment, boundaries, energetic interactions, unresolved wounds, and deeper truths occurring beneath the surface. When used with awareness rather than impulsive reaction, emotions become part of our internal guidance system.

So, how can you strengthen that connection that is already available within you?

  • Spending quiet time in reflection or meditation
  • Paying attention to subtle emotional responses
  • Becoming aware of energetic shifts around people and situations
  • Listening to recurring inner nudges
  • Observing synchronicities and meaningful patterns
  • Creating space away from overstimulation and distraction
  • Trusting small intuitive impressions
  • Developing greater body awareness

Intuition becomes clearer when we stop constantly overriding ourselves. The more attention and validation we give to our internal guidance system, the stronger and more recognizable it becomes.

Move beyond the belief that spirituality is something external that must be acquired. Understand it as a process of uncovering and reconnecting with what has always existed within you. The human experience is far more multidimensional than most of us have been taught. By reconnecting with intuition, emotions, energetic awareness, and soul guidance, we begin reclaiming parts of ourselves that may have been ignored or forgotten. This leads to a more empowered relationship with spirituality. Rather than seeking all answers outside ourselves, we begin recognizing that wisdom and guidance are already woven into our own consciousness.
